Jawahar Point is the impact site of the Moon Impact Probe (MIP) of the Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft. The MIP was released from the Chandrayaan-1 orbiter on November 14, 2008, and crashed into the lunar surface near the Shackleton Crater at 15:01 UTC.
